Yamaha Electric Guitar

With 114 years on the market, Yamaha has established its place as a musical instruments producer all over the world. The first president of the company started off with a small organ repair workshop in 1889 and founded what was going to be the great Yamaha Corporation in 1897.

The company’s focus at first was on organs and pianos and instruments similar, but soon it expanded its riches. Today, Yamaha produces a great diversity of instruments from pianos and keyboards to violins, basses and violas, from flutes, trumpets and saxophones to guitars, each category of instruments having multiple series and models and optional features and accessories.

Yamaha inserted the electric guitar technology into many concepts, some proving true ingenuity, others great technical abilities, all conforming to Yamaha’s high quality standards. Besides the obvious classical and acoustic guitars, Yamaha produces a series for students called ‘School Guitars’ which provides miniature versions for young music lovers.

So Yamaha electric guitars have many faces and one of their most busiest category is the ‘Electric Acoustic Guitars’ which are inspired by both types of instruments equally, having the body design made after the acoustic guitar and the neck inspired by the electric version and technology to match. The category contains 11 different series, each containing multiple items, some are made to deliver the clearer, most beautiful sound, some are made for performance and some for the player’s ease of use and enjoyment.

The ‘Electric Nylon Strings Guitars’ are also inspired by both worlds, having the outer design influenced mostly by classical and acoustic guitars, but with a pickup/preamp system built in called A.R.T. (Acoustic Resonance Transducer). Some models have the identical shape as a classical guitar and a sound to match the original enhanced by the A.R.T. system. Also the ‘Hollow Body’ series contains hybrid guitars.

Yamaha Electric Guitars are divided into 6 categories, each with special features like the RGX which were built for aggressive players and intense guitar workouts. The SG series has been around since 1974 and one of the most popular models amongst amateurs and professionals alike. Its features have stood the test of time, but many things have been improved over the years, as demands changed. A new technology has been added, the IRA (Initial Response Acceleration), which helps a guitar adapt more easily to different styles of playing.

The RGXA2 Yamaha electric guitar has a very interesting concept inspiration: the famous ‘air guitar’. Its light design and smooth lines gives the player a freedom of movement like no other, also looking to create closeness between player and instrument. The concept has brought many challenges to the designers, but the final result has been worth it, having less than a third of the weight of a regular solid-body guitar, with true solid body and a new technology developed especially for this model, the A.I.R. (Alternative Internal Resonance).

Last but not least, the Pacifica series screams performance, with 10 different models to fit any artist’s needs and each being versatile in itself, suitable for different types of playing. So no matter what kind of guitar you are looking for, Yamaha is a great way to start your search.
